Faculty Development
Attend Optional Faculty Development Sessions from the Center for Teaching Excellence (FTF, PTF) //
FTF = Full-Time Faculty | PTF = Part-Time Faculty
The Center for Teaching Excellence provides faculty development sessions to support faculty with strengthening instructional practices and to provide additional information related to available faculty and student support resources. These sessions provide opportunities for faculty to learn new instructional strategies and to reinforce effective practices. Topics can include, but are not limited to, inclusive teaching practices, academic advising, integration of educational technology, and effective pedagogy for strengthening student engagement and learning outcomes.
First-Year Faculty Teaching Academy (FTF)
The First-Year Faculty Teaching Academy (FYFTA) is provided to all new full-time faculty to support them in strengthening classroom pedagogy and with adjusting to teaching in higher education. Attendance at NFO is the first step in participating in the Academy. Sessions are scheduled throughout the fall and spring semesters to provide new faculty with pedagogical training and additional information regarding resources available on campus and across the University. Participants who complete the full program are eligible to earn a digital badge recognizing their completion of the program. The badge can be added to a professional portfolio and documented in Activity Insight. The First Year Faculty Teaching Academy is part of the Provost Endorsement Program.
